Welcome to Franklins Farm

On line butchers Franklins of Thorncote are free range poultry & free range meat producers and game dealers.  Our Greensand Ridge Cattle, Greensand Ridge Gloucester Old Spot Pigs and Greensand Ridge Lambs graze on the meadows surrounding the farm, they are slow grown and 100% traceable. 

 

Our beef is hung for at least 21 days to ensure tenderness and flavour.

 

Based in Thorncote Green, Bedfordshire we have an on-site butchers shop retailing to consumers in Beds, Herts, Cambs, Bucks and Northants both in the Farm Shop and at local Farmers' Markets.  

 

Our butchers shop is a proper Farm Shop where the meat and poultry we sell is produced on the farm.  We also sell locally sourced vegetables, bread and milk as well as pickles, honey, herbs & spices, apple juice, condiments, jams and tinned goods.

Friday                 9am - 6pm
Saturday            9am - 3pm
Sunday             10am - 1pm

 

We also attend the following markets:

 

  • Bedford , Hatfield, Leighton Buzzard, Letchworth, Olney, Potton, St Neots, Shefford, Woburn & Wolverton

 

Franklins of Thorncote has been producing free range poultry since 1987, the business has grown from producing a few geese and turkeys at Christmas, to the year round production of free range chicken, free range duck, free range lamb, free range beef and free range Gloucester Old Spot pork as well as free range eggs and many other products for sale in the shop and at the markets.

 

Free range poultry and free range meat can be purchased all year round.  Our free range Geese and free range Turkey's are only available at Christmas and the Game is only available during the gaming season.  

 

At Christmas why not try our special 3 bird roast? The 3 bird roast is very popular and consists of a boned goose, stuffed with turkey and pheasant breasts as well as a gluten-free apricot sausagemeat.

 

We sell a huge range of sausages.  From our very own recipe "Thorncote Banger" and when in season mixed game and also Turkey and Goose sausages. Our gluten free sausage is very popular with people on a wheat free diet.

PLEASE NOTE:  Courier orders are usually despatched on Wednesday for next day delivery. Please order at least 24 hours ahead of despatch/market day.  If in doubt please call us first. 


Dear Customer,

Our butcher tries his best to ensure that weights shown on this web site are as near to your order as possible. As you can imagine sometimes it is necessary to go over the weight selected. Your final invoice will be adjusted accordingly (no more than 5% will be added). If you prefer the weights to be slightly under - making your bill less, please state so in the special instructions section when completing your order.
