Franklins of Thorncote are free range poultry producers and game dealers, based in Bedfordshire and retailing to consumers in Beds, Herts, Cambs, Bucks and Northants both in the Farm Shop and at a number of local Farmers Markets.

John Franklin has been producing free range poultry since 1987. The business has grown from a few geese and turkeys at Christmas, to the year round production of free range chickens, ducks and eggs, and other produce for sale in the shop and markets.

Free range chickens and ducks can be bought all year round from the Farm Shop situated at Thorncote Green, whilst the Christmas produce consists of the usual range with the addition of free range turkeys, bronze or white, free range geese and three bird roasts. The 3 bird roast is very popular and consists of a boned goose, stuffed with turkey and pheasant.

John makes his own famous Thorncote Bangers from the locally produced Gloucester Old Spot Pork, as well as the popular Turkey Sausages and Game Sausages and burgers.

Oakley Lamb and Gloucester Old Spot Pork, as well as Beef are new recent additions to the Farm Shop selection available. Orders can be taken at the Farm Shop, and it is open Tuesday 9am-5pm, Thursday 9am - 5pm, Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am - 3pm.

Our butcher tries his best to ensure that weights shown on this website are as near to your order as possible. As you can imagine sometimes it is necessary to go over. Your final invoice will be adjusted accordingly (no more than 5% will be added). For example; should your bill come to 65 pounds you will not pay more than 69 pounds. If you prefer the weights to be slightly under - making your bill less, please state so in the special instructions section when completeing you order.
